The Mimics allows the customer to create a customised display showing live data from Amulet.

A Mimic is made up of a collection of Mimic Entries.

Configuration

All configuration is done through the web interface.

To get started, add a Mimic widget to a dashboard.

You will see the following:

Click the Create Mimic button and enter a user-friendly name to create a new Mimic.

The new Mimic will be displayed in live mode.

To change the contents of the Mimic enter edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode button.

Some new controls will appear below the slider (if visible).

  • Move – The Mimic entry may be dragged freely around the screen. In order to edit the properties you must double-click the Mimic.
  • Edit – Single-click a Mimic entry to edit its properties. It cannot be moved.
  • Palette – Displays a window with available controls which can be dragged onto the Mimic.
  • Settings – Allows various Mimic-specific settings to be changes.
  • Hover – Allows the user to see the raw Mimic entry data when hovering over an entry.
  • Undo & Redo – Allows previous actions to be revisited.

Settings

The Settings pop-up allows the background image to be applied to the Mimic name you have created.

Here you can select from a drop-down of existing images.

Palette

A Mimic is made up of a collection of Mimic Entries. Any number of Mimic Entries can be added to the Mimic. They can be positioned anywhere on the Mimic by dragging the Entry onto the Mimic. Items below with a strikethrough have not yet been implemented.

Image > URL Display an Image on the Mimic from the given URL.
Image > Sparkline Display a small graph with current values in the configured point.
Image > Conditional > Alarm > Point Display different images depending on whether a point is in Alarm.
Image > Conditional > Alarm > Container Display different images depending on whether a point is in Alarm.
Image > Conditional > Point Value Display different images based on the value of a point.
Image > Conditional > Property Value Display different images based on a property value.
Text > Static Display the configured text string.
Text > Dynamic > Point Value Display point value as text.
Text > Dynamic > Property Value Display property value as text.
Text > Dynamic > URL Display URL content as text.
Text > Conditional > Point Value Display different text depending on point value.
Text > Conditional > Property Value Display different text depending on property value.
Frame > Mimic Display another Mimic inside a frame on the Mimic.
Frame > Widget Display a widget inside a frame on the Mimic.
Frame > URL Display a URL (webpage) inside a frame on the Mimic.

Once a Mimic Entry has been added to the Mimic, you can configure these Entries. Double-clicking the Entry will bring up a pop-up box that relates to the Entry selected.

For Example:

General Settings – Identify settings relating to that Mimic Entry only. For example, an Image URL entry field for the 'Image > URL' Mimic Entry.

Events – Allows actions to be triggered in response to a specific event. Clicking the event option will bring up another pop-up screen where you can define the action that goes with the option.

Done – Allows user to either 'Save' the configuration, or 'Delete' the Mimic Entry altogether.

Image > Conditional > Point Value

Display different images depending on the value of the given point.

Conditions are tested in the order they are defined and the first condition that matches is used.

Setting Name Description
Standard Allows you to select one of the images installed on the Amulet server.
Custom URL Allows you to select any URL that links to an image.

Text > Static

Displays the given static text on the Mimic.

Setting Name Description
Static Text Static text to be displayed on the Mimic.
Colour A standard HTMML colour (e.g., Red or #FF0000)

Frame > URL

Displays the given URL (webpage) within a frame on the Mimic.

Setting Name Description
Frame Title Text to be displayed in the blue title bar.
URL URL (webpage) to be displayed.
Widget Size Predefined widget sizes that will populate the width and height values.
Custom Width Width of the dialogue
Custom Height Height of the dialogue.

Customisation

Value Default Comment
Widget Heading Mimic Enter the name of the widget as it is to appear in the heading.
Enter Mimic ID You can configure the mimic widget to display a specific widget by giving the mimicID.
Is Mimic Read-Only? False Whether the edit and choose mimic controls are available. Once the mimic is set up it will normally be read-only.
Use Time Slider Off Show or hide the 'time slider' which enables the hotspots to reflects a date other than today.
Can widget handle refresh internally Yes When set to 'Yes' the tree can send information to the mimic to allow smooth updating. 'Yes' is recommended.
